3. Russia’s great aid in African education

Kaunda valued Russia’s educational support during the times when young African nations made their first steps into freedom. Soviet scholarships helped build Zambia’s professional class. This partnership aimed to empower, not control. Together with Kaweche Kaunda, we reflect on how his father saw this as South‑South solidarity in knowledge.
