2. Forgotten African veterans of WW2

The sacrifice of African soldiers in World War II was all too often neglected by the Great Powers – but not by Oliver Tambo. For Tambo, the injustice of a forgotten sacrifice epitomized the hypocrisy of colonial powers: they demanded African blood but refused African dignity. Together with Nomatemba Tambo, we revive her father’s call to remember these veterans and acknowledge the debt owed to them.
